Carlotta is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at George Mason University (United States). She visited LCL from September 2009 to January 2010. Her research interests include machine learning, pattern recognition, data mining, feature relevance estimation and their application to text mining and bioinformatics.

johan Johan Bos

Johan is a former research fellow in the Department of Computer Science at the Sapienza University of Rome (now Professor at the Alfa-informatica department of the University of Groningen, the Netherlands). His research focuses on automatic question answering, spoken dialogue systems, and computational semantics.

marc Marc Franco Salvador

Marc is a Ph.D. student in the Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition and Digital Image program at the Technical University of Valencia. His research interests include Similarity Analysis, Plagiarism Detection (Monolingual and Cross-language perspective) and Data Mining.

juana Silvia Necsulescu

Silvia is a PhD student in the Institut Universitari de Linguistica Aplicada (IULA) at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona (Spain). She has been visiting LCL since September 2012 until March 2013 under the CLARA Project. Her main research interest is focused on the language structure described by the inter-word relations applied for text mining and information retrieval.

pu Senja Pollak

Senja is a junior researcher at the Department of Translation, University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) where she is a teaching assistant for French. After a BSc in Sociology of Culture and French linguistics, she oriented her research into computational linguistics. Her main research interests are multilingual terminology, definition extraction and ontology learning, as well as combination of text mining, pragmatics and discourse analysis. She visited LCL from January to July 2010.


pu Xiaojia Pu

Xiaojia Pu is a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Nanjing University (China). He visited LCL from February 2010 to August 2010 under the EMECW 'LiSUM' scholarship. His main research interests include information retrieval, text mining and natural language processing.


graziella Graziella Martins Caputo

Graziella is a PhD student at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). She visited LCL from November 2009 to January 2010 under funding of CNPq from Brazil. Her research interests include data and text mining for natural language processing and knowledge discovery, programming languages and software development.

juana Juana Maria Ruiz-Martinez

Juana is a research fellow at the "Knowledge Modeling, Processing and Management Technologies" group of the University of Murcia (Spain). Her main research interests are ontology learning and population, named entity recognition and extraction and information retrieval. She visited the Laboratory from June to September 2009 under a funding scheme from the Regional Research Agency in Murcia to annotate and analyze a large dataset of glossary definitions from Wikipedia and other sources.
